waiting |
Lately, I have been waking Devin up with a "Hey come on, it's breakfast time" bark.
Devin normally replies with "Up Up Milo". Sometimes it takes some coaxing, but I do eventually decide to pop up on to the bed or couch - wherever Devin has been sleeping and rest my head for a bit.
After the "bark" Devin wakes up, I know it's only really minutes before breakfast will be served, Devin can never fall back to sleep after waking up. Milo 1 - Devin 0.
Today, Devin said to me that a Greyhounds mind is a terrible thing to waste. Out came a plastic container/cup and my treats. I wasn't sure if it was going to be some sort of "trap" or what, so I just played the waiting game. I stayed on my bed staring at the treat that was placed atop the plastic cup.
What are you up to Devin? |
Once I followed the tiny trail of snacks to the cup, I saw there was a piece on top of the cup. When I took the snack Devin used the "Clicker" and told me GOOD BOY MILO!!!
Devin would tell me "cup", I would do every other "trick" I knew. For the first 8 minutes I wasn't sure what Devin expected from me. I rolled over, tried to shake paw several times, sat and laid down. My mind was working hard trying to figure out what this "cup" thing was that Devin wanted me to do.
Suddenly the "cup" command clicked with me (no pun intended). I started to touch the cup with my nose when Devin would give me the command.

*sniff* |
*tap* watching it move |
Like this Devin? *tap* |
*wide eyes* |
Sometimes I used my foot to tap the cup.
Nana called - My training was interrupted

"rollover tap" You watching me Devin?? |
*tap tap tap* |
Devin stepped out earlier this morning to put the clothes out on the line at Nana's. I decided to make myself comfortable on the couch while I waited for the return. With the A/C running I was a touch chilly. I sprawled out on the couch surrounded by blankets and quilts.
Here I am loafing on the couch:
Corn update:
More of the Jack's Gel has arrived. My corns seem to be shrinking. Devin was talking with Denise (Miami's Mommy - who the gel was originally created for), she said it took a few rounds for Miami's to disappear.
That's it for today -
