Last week Devin packed up and had to leave for a few days. Melissa and Nana took care of me. Little did I know my life was going to change - for the better.
Auntie Shelley and my kitty cousins came to live with me. Dorian is short haired and Gideon is long haired.
Dorian is a kitty that Auntie Shelley befriend over time. He lived on the streets and somehow found his way to Auntie's house. She would feed him and slowly over time they became friends.
Gideon is a kitty that ended up on the vets doorstep in a box - with a note attached, "hi my name is Toby, can you find me a good home".
Auntie thinks he licked a lizard, because his balance is off and he looks a little spacey (most) times.
The introduction:
Auntie and Dad unloaded the kitties at our place before going over to Nana's to bring me home. Dad placed my muzzle on me "just to be on the safe side". It turns out the kitties needed more of the safe guarding than I did. I didn't show any interest in either one of them. As they flew past me, i continued to lay on my bed showing no interest at all.
The first morning we spent with each other, Dad asked me if i wanted to go outside. I was excited and zipped around how I normally do when i'm excited about something.
That was my first mistake. I tried to go one way, but there was a kitty, then i tried to go another way, and i was stopped by another kitty. Dad told me to come on, so i did. That resulted in one of the kitties striking me with their evil spikes aka claws (no worries, after that incident their nails were trimmed). Dad heard me let out a sudden bark, as I ran to my bed. It took a moment for me to come back to the door, Dad was also slow to register that i was dripping dark blood at a decent pace. Once it registered with Dad that i was bleeding first aid was quick to follow. Dad had to hold pressure on my slice for a bit to get the bleeding to stop. We went out for our morning walk, i continued to bleed a wee bit more... Once we were back home things were under control.
For a few days after I was leery of my new roomies. Dad would tell me to "go slow Milo" and I would inch by them. After that incident we have been fine with each other. I can zip by and they don't seem to care.
Most days Dorian spends his time on the chair or up on top of the cupboards above the fridge.
Gideon will either crate himself or wander to the chair if it isn't being occupied.
They both like sitting on the window ledge watching what I don't know. Cats are strange like that. They just tend to stare off. Personally, I think they are plotting their next take over.
So here are photos from the past week. PS - Dad thinks the cats need their own blog.
